It was immediately clear to the designers that a new interior design concept can flirt with a femininity in general and with spatial relations to boudoirs / private lady dress rooms.
Corridors are wrapped in a special wallpaper with a 3d pattern and golden accents. Doors to each of changing rooms are in soft shape and upholstered with a pink velvet, intensifying the feminine feeling and cosines while staying there. The new floor is covered with a linoleum in a bright powder shade. Existing ceiling gets the same shade to blend it together and step in the background.
When walking into KOPI boutique in Warsaw, one can immediately feel like in a luxurious Moroccan tent in the middle of a desert. The soft, irregular shapes of KOPI jewelry and the designer’s holiday inspirations were our starting point – says the Noke Architects duet: Karol Pasternak and Piotr Maciaszek.
The desert-like atmosphere was achieved mainly through the placement of the wavy wall behind the counter which was made by artists with great attention to detail. It is covered with a thick coat of sand and painted with matte mineral paints. The characteristic recesses in the wall resemble cavities in rocks of the Atlas Mountains, making a perfect background for the organic forms of vases and candles.
Nanan means sweetmeats in French and sweets play the leading role in this signature design of a modern patisserie. The deliberately minimalist interior provides a subtle setting for the protagonists: finely decorated sophisticated cakes and éclairs made with meticulous care.
The whole place is given a context of velvet, pink walls with arched doorways making a subtle reference to shape and texture of the classic French confectionery. Combined with delicate shining brass details, rosa aurora marble table tops, natural oak veneers and oak parquet floor it builds a rather surreal ambiance of a dream world.
Being the brand specialized in reparations of mobile phones and smartphone cases, above other accessories for smartphones, the brand reinvention focused mainly on the 54 degrees angle of touch screens. That angle was applied both to the brand as well as to the interior design, besides four different colors: green and blue as a reference to the doctor, salmon for the fashionistas and purple for the geeks. Metal, on the other hand, adds an industrial touch that reminds us of the laboratories.
The design story initiates the change over time by re-writing an architectural essay through this space amalgamation of old with the quirkiness of Art Nouveau glitz (which can be seen throughout the city). The purpose of making “The Pink Zebra” was to speak of a complex and contradictory architecture based on the richness and ambiguity of old and modern experience including that very experience which is inherent in art. The core idea was to create a hybrid rather than pure, compromising rather than clean and leave the visitor hanging in the middle of an artistic sea.
The simple idea was to create a distinct aesthetic architectural style that connects to the city people and poses its stand by the use of a striking color palette . The Pink Zebra with its unique facade design creates an everlasting effect on the passersby and invites them into a magical , expertly crafted world whose spaces are framed to treat the eyes.
