Role: Associate-level Landscape Designer
SALT Landscape Architects is seeking a full-time Associate – level landscape designer.
8+ years of experience / licensure is a plus, but not required.
SALT is looking for an exceptional landscape designer who can provide design leadership on a range of project types and scales for public and private clients. The office looks to hire designers who can develop a clear vision and take ownership in their projects to see them from early ideation through construction. The office believes in hiring creative individuals, strong designers and leaders and giving them room to do their work. SALT is committed to thoughtful collaboration inside and outside the office on all pursuits and so values inter-personal and communication skills. Associates are expected to push for design excellence in all areas as well as guide and lead junior designers in technical and design growth in the office.
Candidates should be interested in working in a small, nimble, fast-pasted work environment and should have demonstrated experience on multiple types of projects at multiple phases of design. Candidates should have excellent design ability, team leadership experience, and strong skills in grading, drainage, site plan layout, construction detailing, podium landscape design, and experience with specification development and construction observation.
Candidates should be self-motivated, self-directed, well organized, possess strong communication skills, be a problem solver, and able to roll with the predictably unpredictable nature of a small office.
