Land+Shelter is seeking qualified candidates with at least 8 years of experience to join the L+S team. Work from home or from our office in Carbondale, Colorado. Remote locations are acceptable but applicants must be full time residents of the United States.
Role: Project Manager/ Project Architect
We’re excited to add a new project manager to our team and we’re looking for someone to join us in our devotion to design. Project managers are an essential roll in our practice . We’re looking for someone able to communicate directly with production team, clients, and consultants. An L+S project manager moves back and forth between hand drawings and computer modeling/rendering and has the ability to consider and convey abstract ideas using images and drawings.
We’re a small firm, and project managers must be well rounded to fit our needs well. Project management tasks include budgeting, scheduling, consultant management, team management, early sketching, design coordination and execution, code review and analysis, Revit modeling and renderings, presentation rendering in Lumion, precedent research, and code research (both land use code and building code). We expect that anyone applying will have strengths and weaknesses in that list, but overall – we’re looking for a philosophy and personality fit as much as anything else.
It’s important that applicants understand Colorado and are familiar with the area from Glenwood Springs to Aspen where most of our projects are located. Our portfolio of work splits pretty evenly between commercial and residential work, although our work-on-the-boards at the moment is skewed towards commercial projects.
Consistent office hours are expected although the specific hours of the day are flexible. We make reasonable allowances for parenting, personal time, powder days, and long weekends. Active community engagement and nonprofit participation outside of work hours is encouraged, and we offer paid time off to encourage community engagement. The L+S benefits package includes standard vacation and medical, plus overtime, community service paid time off, continuing education, and a 401k matching benefit.
Must love architecture.
Applicants please send resume, portfolio, cover letter, and at least two recent references to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Note: Applicants sending work examples without collecting them into a portfolio format will not be considered.
